2 wk Dr. Appt

Today Maeve had her first official doctors appt with Dr. Haynes and it went wonderfully. Dr. Haynes is a great doctor, she took time with Maeve and interacted with her. So here are Maeve's new stats:

Weight: 6 lbs 13 oz.
Height: 20 in.
Head Circumference: 35 cm

We won't go back to the doctor until 2 months, think how big she will be then...WOW! Well, since she is napping I better go take one too. :)

Life with Maeve...week 1 & 2

Maeve enjoying tummy time
Tomorrow Maeve will be 2 weeks old...I can't believe it! We go to see the pediatrician tomorrow and I am hopeful that she has gained some weight and is at least the size she was when she was born if not bigger. I will try to give you an update on how it went. As for life around here, it sure is different but wonderful. She is a really good baby but is struggling a little bit with gas at night. Lanny has been amazing and takes her for a good chunk of the night so I can get some sleep. I try to take over in the early morning to give him some rest. I feel bad because he started back to work on Monday but is still taking the brunt of the night shift. He is such a good daddy (as if there was any doubt). We are just loving being parents, even with the sleepless nights. She is just wonderful.

Maeve Elizabeth Gridley is here!

Well, sorry that I have been so bad about posting the last couple of drs appt. but we've been in count down mode for little Miss Maeve. Thank goodness she made it here safe and sound. The delivery was fast and furious, it look only 3 hrs from my water breaking for Maeve to appear. She was born Oct. 13th at 7:01 AM, she weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 18 1/2 in long. She is just the prettiest baby we've ever seen...seriously. Check her out, I know you'll agree.

Week 33, Dr. Lopez Appt

We had an appt with Dr. Lopez on Sept. 3rd and things are still going great. Baby M's heart beat was again between 145-150 which is good. The appt was pretty boring again which I am just so thankful!

Baby M's Bed
We got her bed up and the room all ready, it looks great but pictures just don't do it justice.

We also had our first baby shower this weekend with the church in Wellington and we received some wonderful items. I am not sure where we are going to put it all, but we are so very thankful for everything!

Week 31, Dr. Lopez appt.

We saw Dr. Lopez today and things are going great. I am having a little swelling in my ankles and feet as well as Braxton Hicks contraction, aw the joys of pregnancy! :) The baby's heartbeat was about 140-145 which is good. Overall, we are doing great. We start seeing her every two weeks so we are on the downward slope and getting excited.

Now if I can just get Lanny to put her bed together so I can get her room looking good! Thanks again for all your prayers, keep them coming.

Week 27, Appt with Dr. O'Hara

Yesterday we had an appointment with Dr. O'Hara so she could look at the baby's heart and kidneys. The baby was fairly cooperative and didn't move around too much but she had her face to my back so we couldn't get a good profile picture or a good picture of her face. I would really like to do the 3D or 4D sonogram, maybe I can talk Lanny into letting me get one since we didn't get a good look at her on this sonogram! We'll see what magic I can work. :)

Dr. O'Hara said that the baby looked good and that she didn't think we needed to see her again, YEAH!! We love her and her staff but it is great to know we won't have to go back there and that things are on the right path. GOD IS SO GOOD!!! Thanks for all the prayers!

Lanny and I are soooo excited that things are looking great for this pregnancy, it's such a relief! Now we just have to worry about raising her right, no biggie...piece of cake...right???? So basically, keep those prayers coming!!!

Thanks again for all your prayers and thoughts. We will keep you all updated as we progress.

Week 24, Dr. Appt

We meet with Dr. Lopez on Friday, July 2nd and it was great. Dr. Lopez said we were boring because the baby was looking good and so was I. It is so nice to be boring let me tell you!!! She did remind us that we might want to begin finding a pediatrician as well as getting our paperwork done for Wesley and get it mailed in to them. Lanny responded by saying that with this one we are kinda forgetting the little details like a pediatrician and paperwork. She responded with "Well, believe it or not babies are born all the time without all this paperwork stuff." We had to laugh about that one.

I am feeling her move all around all the time, she is a busy little bee. I am wondering what she is going to be like when she gets out into this world...we shall see soon enough!

Thanks for all your prayers~

Appt with Dr. Lopez

Sorry I have been kinda slow on this blog post, it's been kinda crazy around here. We went to Dr. Lopez on June 4th for our monthly appt and things were looking good. The baby's heart rate was about 149 which is lower than her normal but I think it was because she was resting. Let me tell you she is always on the move, especially after I eat. I just love it when she moves all around, it's a great feeling!

On a side note, change is all around the Gridley household. As if having a baby isn't enough I am changing my job a little. I will still be working with grants but I won't be working with the technology department. I am going on a teacher contract (summers off, YEAH!) but will still work with teachers teaching them how to use technology in their classrooms. For me, it's the best of both worlds. I will miss all my co-workers but I think with little miss coming our way being on a teacher's schedule will be great! Lanny's job title has also changed, while he doesn't feel it's any big deal I am EXTREMELY proud of him. He is now the CFO of Sherwood Construction, he said that he is still doing the same job but I think that will slowing change as he takes over more and more in that position. He is so dedicated and really deserves this promotion.

As if that wasn't enough, we are also moving to a new home in July. It is a beautiful house and we are really excited about it. It isn't far at all, just south of where we are now. I will post some pictures of it soon. :)

Our next appt with Dr. Lopez is on July 2nd so I will keep you up to date on that appt.

Thanks again for all your prayers...keep them coming!

18 wk Sonogram

Monday we went to Dr. O'Hara for our 18 wk sonogram. We were a little nervous but over all we were calm about it. We went it and had Tara (the same girl that we had with Myles), it was nice to see a familiar face.  So we got started and right off the bat there was tons of fluid and you could see things very clearly. The baby was moving all around and so it was hard for Tara to see everything she wanted, plus my bladder was full....really full. I know tmi. Anyway, she showed went through all the normal stuff like measuring the head, the arms and legs as well as looking at the vital organs. We also found out the sex of the baby....drum roll please...........

It's a GIRL!!! So we are now preparing ourselves for the adventure of being parents to a baby girl. My first thought was....oh no boyfriends and girl drama and makeup and all the other crazy things that go with being a girl!! But we have time to prepare for all that and from what I hear there is nothing you can do to prepare. We are just over the moon excited for this little sweetie! I also have to share my favorite sono pict with you all, her perfect little feet. They melted my heart when I saw them. I can't wait to kiss those little cuties which for me is HUGE because I hate feet!

We will go back at 28 weeks to get a good view of the babies heart and kidneys, Dr. O'Hara wasn't happy with the images they got this time since she was wiggling around so much. Please continue praying that the pregnancy continues on this path. Thank you for all your prayers! God is so good!

Appt with Dr. Lopez

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog as much as I should but the couch has been my friend when I get home from work and haven't really wanted to do much else. So, I promised I would let you all know how our test results came back from the chromosomal abnormalities and that test came back fine. God is so good!

So I had another doctor's appt. with Dr. Lopez today and things went well. I am dealing with a cold or allergies (like most people this time of year) but other than that it was an uneventful appoint. Which we decided that after Myles is a well deserved break! The baby's heart rate this time was at 153 bpm, it is so fun hearing the heartbeat...which I could hear it all the time.

We don't go to see Dr. O'Hara, the fetal maternal specialist until May 17th and we are eager for that appointment. We are hopeful that she will tell is that the baby is growing at a normal rate and everything is fine and we might be lucky enough to find out the sex. You can vote on what you think we are having on the right side of the blog.

Please pray for us on this pregnancy that God give us strength and peace with whatever is headed our way.

Wonderful News

Lanny and I would like to let you know that we are expecting a baby on October 16th of this year. Above is a sonogram from April 7th, 2010.  We just love this sono picture because the baby had it's legs crossed at the ankle and was just kicked back, too cute!

We will be seeing a lot of this little one, since we are considered high risk. We had some genetic testing done on this baby, just the basic chromosome abnormalities (Trisomy 13, 18 and 21) but we won't get the results back until Wednesday the 14th. We saw Dr. Lopez and she said that the measurements that were taken during the sonogram were within normal range but that they wouldn't now anything for sure until the blood work came back, but it sounded hopeful.

We also heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time, it was at 160 bpm. Dr. Lopez said that was a strong heartbeat so that is exciting. Overall, we are very hopeful for this pregnancy and and the health of this little one.  This pregnancy sure has been different from Myles, I have been nauseous all the time have gotten sick more times than I can count. I wasn't really sick with Myles at all.

So, just keep us in your prayers that all goes well and we will keep you in the know through this blog!

Love ya
